Thames & Kosmos Monster Trap Game
The monsters are loose again!!! Well, that's actually not a bad thing — they make living in this mansion really fun! But right now Grandma Frieda is standing outside the front door and she is terribly frightened of monsters. You must catch all the monsters and hide them from Grandma before she sees them! Use the sliders to push the monster as quickly as possible to the middle of the mansion and into the monster trap! You will have to work together on teams to do this. Whoever has pushed the most monsters into the trap by the end of the game is the best monster catcher — and wins the game. Monster Trap is an innovative game that helps kids practice their gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and verbal communication skills.

How Do You Catch the Monsters?
- Use the sliders to push the monster as quickly as possible to the middle of the mansion and into the monster trap! You will have to work together on teams to do this. In order to capture a new monster, the sliders must always be in the starting positions on the edges of the box. One player controls the vertical sliders and the other player controls the horizontal sliders. If the monster falls over, it has escaped and you must start from the beginning and try to trap the monster once again before the timer runs out!
- The deck of monster cards tells players which monster they must try to catch. Reveal the top card from the deck and quickly find where that monster token is on the game board. The sacked monster represents the monster you're trying to trap--once you place it on the correct monster token, you can no longer touch it, but must only use the sliders to move it through the maze!
- When you successfully move the monster through the maze and push it into the monster trap in the middle of the mansion, quickly place that monster card on your team's discard pile. If the hourglass has not run out, you can reveal the next monster in the deck of monster cards and try to catch that one too!
- Monster Trap is an innovative game that helps kids practice their gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and verbal communication skills. Teams rotate from round to round, giving players the opportunity to work on a team with different people. At the end of the game, there is a Top Monster-Catching Team in addition to an individual winner, which encourages and rewards teamwork.
